Authentic 1870 Lithograph Print of 'LES HALLES CENTRALES PARIS DANS SA SPLENDEUR'. This beautifully framed piece came from VICTORIUS Incorporated Charlottsville, Virginia. This is one piece directly from Paul Victorius' collection of fine art prints, antiquarian maps, books and manuscripts. Paul, born in New York in the early 1900s, left New York to study medicine in London in 1924. From there he started his collection of fine pieces, and is known to have an exquisite collection that has been sold to various buyers all around the world. His collection reputedly had become the largest and finest in the world, which included pieces owned by Charles Darwin himself. The city scape you see is of Les Halles De Paris, the central fresh food market and bustling street. The view is from the galleries of the church St. Eustache, 1861. The frame has some wears and flaws, however from one perception to another, the flaws could add to its beauty. The gold paint on the frame has some scratches that can be restored if you are not fond of them. The upper right corner has some minor tears on the fabric part of the frame. The back of this piece has some tears on the original paper back lining, all included in the photos to see for yourself. The piece is 24.25" long, 21.50" wide, and comes off the wall about 2". Overall, this piece is one of a kind and exceptionally beautiful. Item No. 311250.
