The Preservation label presents Wide Asleep, the third album from Sydney's Sophie Hutchings. Sophie Hutchings is a pianist and composer from Sydney. She began teaching herself piano at an early age before any tuition, developing her unique style through countless hours of secret practice. One of her earliest compositions, Hutchings has released three instrumental works to date, Becalmed (2010), Night Sky (2012) and White Light (2014), receiving fine recognition internationally for elegant and beautiful music compared to the likes of Nils Frahm, Max Richter, Peter Broderick and Dustin O'Halloran. UK music bible MOJO had Becalmed as one of it's top five independent releases for 2010, calling the album "grand", "stirring" and "vigorous". The Guardian wrote that "her rippling piano has an intimate, contemplative quality." Other media have described Sophie's music as "frankly amazing", "unabashedly sincere" and "always with a genuine sense of beauty". With Wide Asleep, Hutchings has taken her compositional scope into larger realms of sound and feeling. It is her most searching work, based on ideas on consciousness between sleep and wakefulness. In her most dazzling and poignant pieces to date, Hutchings' piano lines extend with both electricity and elegance, winding through strings, textured ambience and choral voices through beauty and vitality. Reaching further with her music than ever before, Hutchings is in great company, recording Wide Asleep with Tim Whitten as producer, best known for his nuanced and dynamic work with The Necks. Nontoxic sunscreen

Excellent sunscreen! Nontoxic and gentle. I have sensitive skin and chemical sunscreens can irritate my skin, so I switched to this one. It has a creamy feel, but doesn’t make your skin look or feel oily. I have dry-normal skin, for reference. It initially has a bit of a white cast, but once rubbed in you don’t notice it.

Good sunscreen, but the shade didn’t work for me

I bought the Colorescience Flex in Medium because I had seen great reviews and liked the idea of a tinted mineral sunscreen. The formula itself felt really high quality and it did provide good sun protection, but the shade didn’t end up working for my skin tone.
✔️ What I liked:
- Great daily mineral sun protection.
- Lightweight texture and easy to apply.
- Didn’t irritate my skin or cause breakouts.
- Nice natural finish at first.
❌ What I didn’t like:
- On my skin, the Medium shade looked orange.
- The color didn’t blend well with my undertone.
- I had to work it in quite a bit to avoid a noticeable line with my neck.
I think the formula is really good, but the shade selection definitely requires care. In my case, it just wasn’t the right match

Finally found my perfect match!! In foundation!

I’ve used many high-end foundations over the years, but Colorescience has become my everyday favorite. It feels incredibly lightweight on the skin and provides a natural, healthy-looking finish that doesn’t feel heavy or cakey.
The added SPF is a huge bonus and makes my morning routine so much easier. I also love how perfectly it matches my skin tone, it blends seamlessly and looks like my skin, just more even and polished.
If you prefer a natural, lightweight foundation with the added benefit of sun protection, this one is definitely worth trying.

Worth the investment! It lasts!!

I have been using this religiously as my foundation for over a year! I love it. It works best for me when I use moistuzer, let it dry enough so you have a little slip. A LITTLE goes a long way and double check the bottle because even when it feels empty it’s not fully empty :) it’s not a full coverage approach to foundation I use an elf glo setting over it in winter . It’s light weight and the SPF was what I was looking for!

Expensive, but a good product!

Love this product. Comes out of the tube white but changes color as you apply. I find you do need moisturizer on your face to get a smoother application - I tend to mix it with my moisturizer before applying and it works well. Am currently on my 3rd tube of the stuff. A bit pricey, but for my skin it sits better than most other products I've tried and doesn't make me break out or look shiny.
