Instructions upon delivery: After opening the packet, some mussels may appear open and assumed dead. However, this is usually not the case and is quite common with MAP pack live shellfish. Fully submerge the mussels in cold clean tap water for a few minutes. Then drain and discard any broken mussels or mussels that remain wide open (it is normal for MAP packed mussels to remain slightly open and not respond much when tapped or squeezed). Once opened and briefly left to air, the mussels should smell fresh with no unpleasant or strong odours.
Live mussels should be stored in the fridge and enjoyed as soon as possible after delivery. It is best to consume within 2 days of delivery (the fresher the better). Do not freeze the product.
Occasionally, due to farming shortages, product may occasionally be substituted with a similar alternative - we will always notify you of this.
