This new model continues to offer excellent value for money, delivering impressive photo quality, decent video, and fast trigger speeds - all wrapped up in a compact, weatherproof housing that’s easy to set up and use.
This camera boasts an upgraded 40MP photo resolution - providing noticeably more detail and clarity compared to previous Command Ops models. Colour and contrast have also been improved slightly over the 22MP model, although, as with most cameras in this price bracket, image performance still dips a little in low light.
It uses low-glow LEDs to deliver a solid flash range and excellent battery life. These LEDs, paired with the new Radiant 4 technology, provide better night illumination and are suited primarily for wildlife setups rather than security applications.
Trigger speeds remain impressive, around 0.3 seconds for photos and similar for videos. Few cameras at this price point can match this speed, which ensures you capture your subject before it moves out of frame.
Video quality remains at 900p, offering clear and vibrant footage, although still not on par with the high-end Recon Force cameras. Daytime videos are crisp in good lighting but can lose clarity around dawn and dusk.
Photo quality has seen a significant upgrade with the jump to 40 MP, providing exceptional detail and color, even in less-than-ideal lighting conditions.
The build quality and overall design follow Browning's high standards. The case remains compact and durable, similar to the Sub Micro series, but retains a user-friendly LCD screen for setting adjustments. It doesn’t have the metal bracket at the back, but curved strong plastic to make it pretty straight forward to strap up. Settings are changed via a little LCD screen, which is bright and easy to use.
Nighttime videos are capped at 20 seconds due to its power system, but the camera will record another clip if motion persists. The warranty length remains 2 years in the UK through NatureSpy.
This camera is excellent value and now performs even better – we give the Browning Command Ops Elite 40 a solid 8 out of 10.
