The Back To Nature Penthouse Cat Tree by Lords & Labradors gives your cat a tall, structured place to climb, scratch, hide, and rest indoors. This cat tree is designed for homes where floor space matters but vertical space can be used more effectively, giving your cat clear levels for movement and rest without overwhelming the room.

Part of the Back To Nature range, this design combines wood, wicker, and sisal to create a more natural feel under paws and claws while maintaining the stability needed for repeated daily use. The Penthouse balances height, structure, airflow, and scratch access in one piece of furniture, making it a practical option for indoor cats that need more than a simple bed or scratch post.

The layout combines open platforms with a covered hideaway, so cats can move between levels, pause, and settle without feeling rushed. This helps build steady routines, encourages regular climbing, and reduces restless behaviour over time.

Key Features

  • Four-level structure for climbing, rest, and observation
  • Enclosed hideaway for private, uninterrupted sleep
  • Natural sisal posts for scratching and full-body stretching
  • Stable base that reduces wobble during daily use
  • Wood and wicker build that allows airflow and maintains structure
  • 153cm height to maximise vertical space without a large footprint

Best Suited For

Indoor cats that rely on vertical space for movement and rest, including kittens learning to climb and adult cats that prefer elevated observation points. It also suits multi-cat homes where level separation helps reduce tension, and homes where floor space is limited but height can be used effectively.

If you want to compare sizes and layouts before choosing, you can browse our cat trees and towers collection to see how different heights and footprints suit different rooms.

Penthouse Cat Tree For Indoor Cats

This cat tree is designed to give indoor cats structured height, clear movement routes, and defined rest areas within a compact footprint. This supports daily climbing, scratching, and resting without relying on floor space alone.

Using vertical space helps reduce boredom and gives your cat more control over their environment. This is especially important in flats or smaller homes where usable territory is limited.

Designed For Indoor Living

Indoor cats need furniture that replaces the movement, elevation, and choice they would naturally find outside. A structured cat tree gives them predictable routes, separate resting zones, and a reliable place to scratch within a footprint that still works in shared rooms.

This matters because boredom indoors often shows up as pacing, repeated vocalising, or furniture scratching. This tree addresses this by offering a clear sequence of levels that support short, repeatable movement through the day, rather than relying on occasional bursts of activity.

Wood, wicker, and sisal create varied textures under paws and claws, helping the structure feel consistent during daily use while still fitting naturally into living spaces.

Built For Daily Use

A tall cat tree needs to feel stable under regular climbing, jumping, and scratching. The Penthouse is built with a wide base and balanced height, helping reduce wobble during use and making it easier for cautious cats to trust the structure early on.

This consistency plays a key role in long-term use. When a cat tree feels reliable, cats are more likely to return to it throughout the day rather than switching between different surfaces around the home.

Over time, many cats adopt it as their main resting and observation point, using it as part of a fixed daily routine.

The Penthouse Layout And Height

Standing at 153cm, this cat tree gives cats several usable height options without becoming unnecessarily wide at floor level. Height allows cats to adjust their position based on activity in the home while maintaining a sense of control over their environment.

The vertical layout creates clear routes between platforms, so cats can climb, turn, and settle without blocking each other. This is particularly useful in multi-cat homes, where separation by height helps reduce tension and competition.

Each level offers enough usable space for sitting, lying down, and turning comfortably, supporting both short pauses and longer rest periods.

Four Practical Levels

The lower levels provide easier access for kittens, cautious climbers, and older cats, while the upper tiers suit confident cats that prefer distance from floor activity. This allows different cats to use the structure in ways that match their behaviour and comfort level.

Clear level separation reduces competition for space and encourages steady daily movement, helping cats spread out naturally rather than competing for one preferred area.

Enclosed Hideaway Zone

The enclosed section creates a private rest area that many cats use for deeper sleep. Being partially enclosed reduces exposure to light and movement, helping cats relax more fully during rest periods.

The wicker design allows airflow through the space, preventing heat build-up while maintaining a sheltered feel. The entrance remains wide enough for easy access, making the hideaway both secure and practical.

Scratching And Claw Care Support

Sisal wrapped posts provide a reliable surface for daily scratching, helping maintain claw condition while supporting shoulder and back stretching. This creates a consistent outlet that reduces the likelihood of damage to furniture.

Scratching also plays a role in releasing tension and marking territory. When your cat has a dependable surface that meets their needs, they are more likely to return to it regularly rather than seeking alternatives around the home.

If you are still deciding which design suits your cat, you can read our full guide in best cat trees for indoor cats, which explains how height, layout, and scratch access affect daily use.

Natural Sisal Texture

Sisal fibres remain coarse even after repeated use, giving cats the friction they expect when applying weight. This helps maintain a consistent scratching experience over time without the surface becoming smooth.

The rope holds its structure well under normal use, which keeps the scratch surface reliable and reduces loose fibres around the base.

Supporting Full Body Stretching

Post height allows full extension through the spine and shoulders, supporting mobility and daily movement. This is especially important for indoor cats that do not have access to outdoor climbing surfaces.

Regular stretching can support joint comfort and help maintain balance as cats age.

Movement, Confidence, And Daily Activity

Cats benefit from short, repeatable movement throughout the day rather than relying on long bursts of activity. A structured cat tree supports this by giving them a clear route to climb, pause, observe, and rest in cycles that feel natural.

This pattern often leads to calmer behaviour, particularly in indoor environments where stimulation can be limited. When cats can choose their own height and position, they tend to feel more in control of their surroundings.

That sense of control becomes more important in shared homes, where floor-level movement may feel exposed or busy.

Encouraging Natural Routes

Cats are more likely to use a cat tree consistently when the route feels clear. Platform spacing allows steady movement between levels without large or awkward jumps.

This supports confidence in younger cats while also helping older cats move comfortably, making the structure easier to adopt long term.

Reducing Boredom Indoors

Indoor boredom often comes from limited usable territory rather than a lack of toys. A tall cat tree increases available space by adding height, giving cats more choice in where they rest and observe.

This can reduce pacing and attention-seeking behaviour, with many owners noticing improved settling once vertical space is introduced.

Materials, Finish, And Home Integration

The wooden frame provides structure without excessive visual bulk, while wicker panels soften the overall look and allow enclosed areas to remain breathable. These materials balance durability with comfort and feel more natural than fully plush designs.

The neutral finish makes the tree easier to place within shared living spaces. Many owners position it near a window or existing resting area, which often helps cats adopt it more quickly.

Placement, Setup, And Care

Placement affects how quickly a cat tree is used. Positioning it near a window, resting area, or observation point encourages faster adoption. A level surface also improves stability and supports confident movement.

Assembly is straightforward, with all fixtures included. Tighten fixings fully during setup and check them again after the first week of use to maintain stability over time.

Routine care is simple. Dust platforms weekly, wipe wood and wicker with a damp cloth, and keep sisal dry to preserve texture and durability.

Strong Omegaverse Comfort and a Attention Grabbing Plot
Format: Kindle
Jillian West never misses when it comes to Omegaverse, and Not Ready is no exception. This story was the perfect blend of cozy comfort and emotional depth while still delivering a strong plot. Vale is such a powerful heroine, she is strong, capable, and determined but I love that she still allows her pack to love and take care of her. It’s that balance of independence and vulnerability that makes her so relatable. The relationship dynamics were amazing: Bishop is steadfast and completely head over heels, Mercy is skeptical but protective in his own way, and Holt is the hesitant one whose slow fall is so satisfying to watch unfold. The romance hits that sweet spot between insta-love and cautious build, keeping me hooked the entire way through. And that ending. Oh my god, the cliffhanger! I need the next book in this duet immediately.

Interesting
Format: Kindle
So I will say I enjoyed the story, for sure had its moments where it dragged but it was a great story. I really liked that omegas picked their alphas/make the pack. Normally the Alphas make it and the omega fits in with them which is great but I enjoyed this new version where all the power basically went to the omega. It was a nice change of pace. I can admit some of the weird bedroom stuff with her being pregnant was odd, it’s really not hard to do stuff when pregnant (I know I’ve had two and it’s normal and even encouraged at the end especially if you want the baby out). But I like the story as a whole and will read the second, I do hope the next one isn’t dragged bc it stopped being action or tense after she met her alphas and I don’t think it was brought up or properly done when they tried to do it. More sweet after she left.

I’m a little disappointed.
Format: Kindle
I usually like Jillian West’s books but this one was missing a lot for me. The pregnancy didn’t come across as real. She’s on her feet for 12 hour days but is perfectly healthy at 8 months pregnant? Yet the week she moves in all of a sudden she’s not? She is planning on actually running during one of the plot buildups. But at 8 months pregnant that’s incredibly hard to do. The lack of breathing ability and lung space, the change in body center, mass, and gravity. All of it prohibits running, unless you’re an athlete this didn’t come off as at all realistic. I didn’t feel any connection with the alphas. There wasn’t any emotional connection. It could be because of the tense it was written in. But I didn’t get any deep feelings out of this. It came across as checking off boxes. Even the spicy scenes weren’t really believable for me. I wanted to see them fall for her, and it just kind of all fizzled. Even Bishop. One thing I did really like was the ending. I did not see it coming and I’m interested in reading book two because of it. But on the whole this book was mostly disappointing for me.

Vale is an 8 month pregnant omega working as a waitress at a strip club and a cam girl. She starts to get very creepy vibes from a regular at the club, and her baby daddy ghosted her. She has had an online relationship with a man named Bishop through her cam girl status. One night, bishop was paying to watch her sleep and ansthe creepy regular Andrew break in and watch her sleep he tells vale to come to him at his business now. She flees and finds herself at a large security company with some.hot of alphas who are there to help her. This imegaverse is a little different than I have read, but I am thoroughly enjoying it. Vale is not a traditional omega she was raised by a single beta mom, and the alphas are not normal alphas they have never really loved pack life. But they are ruthless mercenaries. They need her, and she needs them. I love the aspect of the stalker and now the plot twists at the end, so so good. Sometimes, it seemed a little slow and stale mated, but since this a duet, I think It was just her starting to have Vale get to know her alpha suitors. Cliffhanger for sure with this one.

That ending 😫
Format: Kindle
I fell into a false sense of security and really thought this was gearing towards a happy ending. Then I realized there’s no work they don’t punish Andrew. I really liked Vale’s character. I don’t normally read books with pregnancy but going into this knowing she was pregnant made it more enjoyable for me. I loved Bishops devotion to her and her happiness. I also loved that Holt and Mercy couldn’t fight their attraction to her. I love scent matches so very much. I’m so curious to see how this duet will end up. And I need to pay more attention and notice that a book I’m starting is a duet to begin with lol
