From Horse and Buggy to GPS: Life on a Saskatchewan FarmThis book tells the story of my parents and grandparents, from horse and buggy days to increasing specialization and mechanization in agriculture. This book tells the story of my parents and grandparents, from horse and buggy days to increasing specialization and mechanization in agriculture. My grandparents, FŽlicien and Bertheline Beaujot and Paul and Julienne Mullie arrived in Canada from Belgium and France over the period 1892 to 1911. //

After a discussion of the conditions that allowed for European settlement in Western Canada, I summarize the history of the community of Saint Hubert in Southeastern Saskatchewan, where my grandparents lived their lives and my parents Leon and Dorothy Beaujot were married (1945) and are buried (2014). Originally called ÒLa Rolanderie,Ó this settlement was established in the mid-1880s by ÒFrench countsÓ who sought to start a new life on the prairies of what was then CanadaÕs North West. While the aristocrats soon returned to Europe, they and others who came at that time had started a vibrant community that has since essentially disappeared, with only the church and cemeteries remaining. //

In order to compare experiences to those of family members who remained in Europe, short descriptions are made of the lives of uncles, aunts and first cousins of Leon and Dorothy Beaujot, across the four families of origin: Beaujot, SŽnŽchaud, Mullie, Smets. I pay special attention to how the wars differentially affected the families in Canada and Europe, and the continuing contact across families on both sides of the Atlantic. //

This story of my parents and grandparents shows how life changed on family farms: shelter and food, earning a living, family and community.

Can easily hide towels
Works nicely. I have it mounted with towels hanging on the inside of my cabinet so you see only the small hooks on the outside of the cabinet door. It extends nicely and has ample room for one towel folded in half on each bar; you would have to fold each towel again to get 2 side by side. Only minor issue the hooks extend over the door a little lower than I'd like and they are beveled outward on the bottom so you see this on the outside. I have a similar design single bar rack with smaller less noticeable hooks. Neither one is completely invisible but at least I can hide the towels and not cover up my new beautiful stainless range or cabinets with towels. Worth the money.

A simple but useful little gadget
I love my little galley kitchen which really only has one wall as it is open to the family room and dining room. So no available wall space meant no place to install towel bars. That meant there was no space to hang up my dish towels to dry. These towel bars were the solution to that little (but daily) annoyance. They attached easily and securely to my cabinet drawers. I am very pleased with them.

Great Towel Rack
This is a replacement for a similar towel rack. It looked exactly the same, but welds failed after a number of years. This one is designed much better. It is adjustable the other was not. Very clean looking and expect this to last at least as long as the other or longer. My wife loves it.

Sturdy but hard to use
This bar is sturdy and doesn't bend but the bars are too close together making it difficult to hang towels on. Pro: sturdy and quality made Con: hard to use

Perfect for my needs
I don’t have many towel racks in my bathrooms and they’re hard for me to reach because I’m disabled. I bought a couple of small over the door racks, but they’re too small for hand towels. I didn’t have high hopes for this adjustable rack, I thought it would uncouple and fall from the door. I’m pleased to say I was wrong. There appears to be a stopper keeping both sides in place. I like that it has 2 bars, I easily put my face towel on one and my hand towel on the other. If I have a complaint, I wish the whole unit was another inch longer.
