Six Questions Your Proforma Franchise Financial Model Must Answer

We built this franchise unit financial model using our own research on B2B marketing franchise unit economics. Key assumptions like the 8% royalty, $35,000 franchise fee, and $1.14 million year-one revenue are pre-populated and fully editable. This tool helps you see how a $1.07 million EBITDA is possible by year five with the right staffing.

What is the profitability trajectory?

This franchise unit hits its break-even point in January 2026, just one month after opening. Here's the quick math: with a $1.14 million year-one revenue and 14% COGS, you cover your $10,100 monthly fixed costs almost instantly. Profitability isn't just about sales; it's about what you keep after the 8% royalty.

Maximize Unit Profit

  • Upsell high-margin custom printing services
  • Monitor sales representative productivity closely
  • Reduce freight and shipping overhead
[dynamic_pic9]

How much capital is required?

You need $78,500 in upfront capital to cover the franchise fee and equipment, plus a cash buffer for the ramp-up. Most of this goes toward the $35,000 initial fee and $12,000 in leasehold improvements for your Austin command center. Capital is the fuel for your franchise engine.

Major Capital Uses

  • Initial Franchise Fee: $35,000
  • Leasehold Improvements: $12,000
  • Printing Equipment: $9,000
[dynamic_pic10]

What is the return on investment?

The internal rate of return (IRR) is 26.89%, with a return on equity (ROE) of 3.2. What this estimate hides is that while payback occurs after year five, the $1.07 million EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) in year five creates significant resale value. ROI is the only metric that truly measures success.

Key Investor Metrics

  • Internal Rate of Return: 26.89%
  • Return on Equity: 3.2
  • Year 5 EBITDA: $1,072,000
[dynamic_pic11]

What is the break-even point?

Break-even occurs in month one because the average ticket for promotional products and corporate apparel is high enough to offset the 9% combined royalty and marketing fees. Speed to break-even is the best indicator of a healthy unit.

Reach Break-Even Faster

  • Secure recurring order contracts early
  • Negotiate better office lease terms
  • Focus on high-volume promotional products
[dynamic_pic12]

What is the cash runway?

Your lowest cash point is $1,239,000 in April 2026, which assumes you start with significant liquidity to fund the initial team. How to build a franchise financial model requires looking at this 'valley' to ensure you don't run out of money during the ramp-up of your sales team. Cash is king, especially during the first six months.

Protect Your Cash Flow

  • Delay non-essential office furniture buys
  • Manage opening inventory levels tightly
  • Phase in customer service hiring
[dynamic_pic13]

How do scenarios change outcomes?

The high scenario projects year-five revenue at $2.56 million, which significantly improves your store-level margin. Moving from low to high depends on your sales reps hitting their targets and keeping COGS near the 12% benchmark. Plan for the best, but prepare for the rest.

Improve High-Case Odds

  • Execute local B2B marketing workshops
  • Implement automated reordering stores
  • Focus on tech-sector client retention

Sturdy and Comfortable
I’m really impressed with this ergonomic office chair. Assembly was incredibly easy I had it put together much faster than I expected, and everything fit together perfectly without any frustration. The teal green color is beautiful and one of my absolute favorites; it adds such a nice pop to my workspace. As a heavier person, I’m always cautious about weight capacity, but this chair feels genuinely solid and supportive. No wobbling, no sinking just sturdy, reliable construction. The seat cushion is comfortable for long hours at the computer, and the back support has made a noticeable difference in reducing my back pain. I also appreciate how easy it is to clean. A quick wipe keeps it looking fresh, and the material doesn’t trap dust or pet hair. The wheels glide smoothly, making it easy to roll and turn without any effort. For the price, the quality and value are fantastic. This chair has definitely made my workdays more comfortable. I highly recommend it especially for anyone who’s heavier and hesitant about sturdiness.

Great chair — comfortable, sturdy, and surprisingly easy to assemble
The first thing that impressed me was how steady and solid it feels. It’s not wobbly or flimsy at all, and the base and wheels roll smoothly without feeling cheap. Once assembled, it feels like a chair that will last. Assembly was also easier than expected. The instructions were straightforward, and all the parts lined up well. My 12-year-old son helped assemble it and was able to do most of it himself with some effort. Comfort-wise, it’s excellent for everyday use. The mesh back is breathable, the seat feels supportive, and the tilt adjustment (90–125°) is a nice bonus when I want to lean back and relax. The 3D armrests are also a great touch and help with positioning for desk work. Overall Nice chair

Sturdy, comfortable and solid chair for focused-workers
Color: Onyx Black
I LOVE THIS CHAIR! I've had a manager's style leather chair for the past four years from one of the office supplies big box stores and the armrests began to wear off, so the need for a suitable replacement was needed. Immediately, I knew how badly my posture was in the former chair and the ergonomics of this chair are 100% comfortable. The lumbar support is a little difficult to adjust correctly and that would be my only item for the makers to improve in future iterations. Overall, I am impressed with the quality, ease of assembly and downright comfort of this chair. I enjoy the settings especially the one to lock-in the recline degree of the back halfway and the leg rest is durable and strong. This change was for the better and I'm way more energized to get through my digital workflows for hours at a time without any fatigue. The item is cheaper than when I bought it and that's an absolute steal and bargain with much value hopefully for years to enjoy.
