Shadoks Music present a reissue of the Danish and rare English version of Alrune Rock, the third album by Alrune Rod, originally released in 1972 and 1973 respectively. "Alrune Rod" is the name for the Danish mythical mandrake root, and also the name for one of the most popular hippie bands from Denmark who shared the stage with Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin among other famous bands. Alrune Rock, their third album, came in two different versions: In 1972, with Danish vocals and in 1973, the rare English vocals version with slightly different mixes. For the English version, the band used the cover image of their first album, Alrune Rod (1969), but with heavy color changes and a sticker on the front. Still, many people - even in Denmark - got confused about two very different albums with the similar artwork. The release presented here uses the outside of the English version, each printed inner sleeve has the correct English/Danish cover. During March and April of 1972, Alrune Rod chose record producer Freddy Hansson to Rosenberg studios in Copenhagen. At this point, the band was a trio: Leif Roden Nielson, Ole Poulsen and Karsten Høst. This was the first studio recording for Ole. Karsten had played on the previous Hej Du album (1971) and Leif would appear on all of Alrune Rod's albums. Alrune Rock shows the group moving away from the violent and emotional drama as their main expression, seeking strength through a technically more competent music. Alrune Rock reached #3 on the "Top 10" charts of the Danish radio with more than 10,000 copies of sold. A true Danish hippie blockbuster. The English version of Alrune Rock was ready for the stores in in March of 1973. Alrune Rock is at both melodic and full of improvisations. It belongs to the top of the Danish underground scene among Young Flowers, Culpeper's Orchard, Burnin Red Ivanhoe, and Hurdy Gurdy, just to name a few. Their musical style is often described as a hybrid between The Grateful Dead and early Pink Floyd. A Danish rock classic. This reissue of Alrune Rock includes a rare poster, two-page insert with new liner notes and many unseen pictures from the period 1972-74. Comes as 180 gram vinyl in heavy gatefold sleeve and printed inner sleeves. Edition of 600 (numbered).

♦♦ Vanilla Syrup:
● I wanted to reduce the amount of flavored coffee creamer
that I normally use, so I thought I would give DaVinci syrups
a try. This was the first time that I tried and used the DaVinci
brand.
♦♦ Coffee Time:
● I used about half of the coffee creamer that I typically use
and I added a teaspoon or two of DaVinci syrup to my morning
coffee. I gave it a good stir, then took a few sips and there was
plenty of flavor for my liking and it seemed to have a rounder
and had more of a vanilla like taste when comparing it to the
vanilla flavored coffee creamer that I normally use, I definitely
enjoyed the result.
♦♦ Great for Other Uses:
● I also tried this syrup with other drinks such as soft drinks,
cola, orange and root-beer, and a smoothie. All of them of
them were very good, indeed. Give it a try.
● I also added some to plain yogurt and some other foods and
they all tasted really good as well.
♦♦ Ingredients:
Cane Sugar, Water, Natural Vanilla Extract with Other Natural
Flavor, Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate (preservatives),
Citric Acid, Caramel Color.

to other brands that I've had before.

Comparing to the coffee giant version

Starbucks comparison (from a personal standpoint): I’m fortunate enough to have a bottle of Starbucks Brown Sugar. Problem is, I’m almost out. Looking around at some alternative options, and reading the reviews- I see some saying this is a good substitute. Because I happen to have the syrup on hand, I figured I should see if it is, because it would be great given the low cost of DaVinci syrup. This picture I’m attaching is just to see the color difference.
Consistency wise, the DaVinci syrup is much lighter, more runny. The Starbucks is definitely a thicker liquid, that runs much slower.
Flavor is the big one: DaVinci is lighter on taste, and sweeter. The best way to describe the flavor is comparing DaVinci’s to 100% real maple syrup that’s been diluted down with water. It’s good, but not really similar (in my opinion) to Starbucks Brown Sugar. Starbucks is more smokey in flavor, more strong/bold.
My drinks are made using espresso, oak milk, cinnamon powder, and ice. I made my drink the same way, but used DaVinci Syrup this time. I found that the same amount of syrup that I use for the Starbucks, didn’t feel like it had a strong enough flavor. What did I do? I added an extra ounce of DaVinci hoping to get a stronger flavor. The problem is, DaVinci is more sweet than the Starbucks syrup (in my opinion) and ended up making my drink taste too sweet. It’s sweet enough that I’m not going to finish drinking it.
I’m not knocking the DaVinci syrup itself. I think it’s a good brand and a good flavor. It’s just not the flavor I was hoping would solve my issue for a Starbucks imitation. I would encourage anyone to still try this syrup, but do so to enjoy it for being its own flavor.

Tastes Like Banana Pudding and Dunkin Banana Flavor!

I don't know why someone would buy this expecting it to taste like real bananas like come on ppl lol. The only way to attain a syrup that tastes like real banana bread is to make it at home. This is an artificially flavored syrup so obviously it tastes that way! I have made banana bread syrup (more like a sauce) at home and it is delicious, highly recommend!! But this is way more shelf stable and tastes amazing in an iced latte as well! Different than home made but still good. To me this tastes like banana pudding mix which also has a fake banana taste. It also tastes EXACTLY like the new Dunkin banana flavored syrup which is what I was looking for! I use 1.5 tbsp syrup, a little vanilla paste, 2 espresso shots and 2 percent milk with plenty of ice. I like keeping my latte calories below 200 and not super sweet tho so you can up it to 2 tbsp. The cals in this are not terrible, 70 cals for 2 tablespoons. Usually my syrups have 50-60 cals for only 1 tbsp so I'm pleasantly surprised this is a little lower. I bought a second bottle because I'm afraid this is a limited release lol.
