Hesperian Tales is a collection of recaptured life experiences, recounted by a group of residents at Hesperus Village. Hesperian Circle, as the group is called, come from many backgrounds. We meet twice a month in a supportive setting that is free of judgment or expectation, therefore the spontaneously told stories flow naturally and are received by truly attentive ears.
Some stories describe powerful events, others convey humour and some dive to great emotional, even spiritual depths. Each story is personal and unique, yet in each, the universality of human experience shines through.
Recording, editing, compiling and publishing Hesperian Tales was a collective effort, and it was also rewarding, for it made each of us reawaken individual skills, some of which had been dormant for years. Our sharing made us 'proud' of the communal commitment that continues to expand our minds and hearts to new insights and joy, which we wish to share with each one of our readers.
