This collection of stories from Anishinaabe elders offers a history of a people at the same time that it seeks to preserve the language of that people.>As fluent speakers of Ojibwe grow older, the community questions whether younger speakers know the language well enough to pass it on to the next generation. Young and old alike are making widespread efforts to preserve the Ojibwe language, and, as part of this campaign, Anton Treuer has collected stories from Anishinaabe elders living at Leech Lake, White Earth, Mille Lacs, Red Lake, and St. Croix reservations.
Based on interviews Treuer conducted with ten elders--Archie Mosay, Jim Clark, Melvin Eagle, Joe Auginaush, Collins Oakgrove, Emma Fisher, Scott Headbird, Susan Jackson, Hartley White, and Porky White--this anthology presents the elders' stories transcribed in Ojibwe with English translation on facing pages. These stories contain a wealth of information, including oral histories of the Anishinaabe people and personal reminiscences, educational tales, and humorous anecdotes. Treuer's translations of these stories preserve the speakers' personalities, allowing their voices to emerge from the page.
This dual-language text will prove instructive for those interested in Ojibwe language and culture, while the stories themselves offer the gift of a living language and the history of a people.

Available in three colors
Color: Black
These metal mesh trays come in three colors – black, silver and white. While most mesh organizers are black, it’s nice that two other colors are available that might fit better into your décor. There are no interior dividers, which I find to be not very useful anyway. These do not stack, so the clearance is only limited to the height of any shelf above the tray. The trays are as described in the ad. The trays come with 12 self-adhesive foot pads that are round about 5/8” in diameter and about 2mm thick. These will prevent the trays from scratching whatever they are set upon. The trays will prevent loose objects from falling from your desk or shelf.

The Perfect Valet Tray

Arrived well packaged in a sturdy box and wrapped in waterproof padding. The appearance of the wood and stain is high quality and matches pretty close to the walnt dresser. When I opned the box, it did not have any mysterious smells that make me sneeze. Adequate organizer that fits what I need. It is very balanced and sturdy with no warped wood. The notch for the phone charger cable is a nice touch Overall, I was presently surprised and would recommend this valet tray.
