Beginning with the birth of the Cherokee patriarch Major Ridge in the 1770's, Thurman Wilkins tells the events that led to the Trail of Tears, through the eyes of the illustrious Ridge family. Major Ridge and his Connecticut-educated son John were willing to abandon the rich tribal homelands in North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia and emigrate west to the Indian Territory to escape the white invaders.

During the decades of fruitless negotiations that culminated in the infamous Treaty of New Echota, Georgia, in 1835, the Ridges and their relatives Elias Boudinot and Stand Watie became persuaded that further protests by the Cherokees would lead only to their annihilation at the hands of the whites. The pro-treaty Ridge faction was opposed by fiery John Ross, the leader of the majority National Party, who wanted to stay and fight in the Southeast against all odds.

In this revised edition of his great work, Thurman Wilkins addresses the new scholarship of the past fifteen years and reconsiders the important questions raised by Cherokee history aficionados: Were Major Ridge and John Ridge paid off by the United States for their support of removal? If not, how did these Cherokee patriots come to change their minds about emigrating west? Was Chief John Ross a hero or a villain?

Since Cherokee Tragedy was first published in 1970, it has been valued as a penetrating social and political history of neither the whole Cherokee Nation-nor just the Ridge family- from the last quarter of the eighteenth century to the 1838 Trail of Tears and the subsequent "execution" of the Ridges in Indian Territory.

34 DD approved
Color: Dark Beige, Size: 34DD
This is the first wired bra I’ve worn in years and also generally just my new favorite bra. I have breast hypertrophy and after 2 breast reductions and years of gravity, they’ll find a way to spill out of any cup and slip under any wire. The second I put this bra on I immediately felt weight off my back. The wires feel actually supportive instead of restrictive and my chest settled right into the cups smoothly and comfortably. As opposed to relying on padding (which makes me so sweaty), the construction and fabric do all the heavy lifting which makes me feel supported while still staying cool

SO very comfortable and supportive, but can't get the four hooks hooked in the back.
Color: Light Beige, Size: 44DD
I measured myself as described in listing and ordered 44dd based on that. The bra fits just right. It is super smooth and soft fabric and VERY comfortable! I especially like that it holds in the side boobs and the underwire does not poke out. I don't think I have ever had a bra before that actually stayed up on the sides! Maybe I have been wearing the wrong size?? I was skeptical and bought because of the free returns, but I am keep this one and one other style which is just as comfortable. THE ONLY THING WRONG AND THEREFORE 4 STARS is that I cannot hook the backs (4 hooks). The other one I bought was doable but with effort, this on I absolutely could not do and had to hook in the front and slide around. I don't know if there a fix for this but I will keep them because they are so dang comfy and supportive. And yes, they do minimize which is also wonderful for me!

Fits like a $100 bra
Color: Black, Size: 36H
I don’t know why HSIA bras are so comfortable. The underwire does not dig in. This is the third one I’ve purchased. This bra has a pretty lace pattern. I love it. Highly recommend.

Great bra!
Color: Dark Beige, Size: 38D
I have several different bras from this brand. This is a really good minimizer. It has a nice wide strap. I don’t love the clasp as it is covered in a hard material, but overall it is a good bra that you can wear all day under form fitting shirts.

Uncomfortable
Color: Light Beige, Size: 38DD
In my search for a comfortable well-fitting bra, I came across this one. Reviews were good, so I ordered one. Half way through the day, I had to take it off. This is the most uncomfortable bra ever. This one went on to the "uncomfortable pile" pretty quick Not full coverage and not supportive. Side coverage is pretty good but straps are thin and do not lift.
