Les générations qui vous ont précédé ont compté sur l’exploitation des océans. Mais à la fin du 19ème siècle, le changement et les opportunités atteignent votre village de pêcheurs dans le nord de la Norvège.

Dans Saltfjord, vous devez décider si vous allez agrandir votre colonie avec de nouveaux bâtiments, envoyer votre bateau collecter du poisson, faire du commerce ou être le pionnier de nouvelles technologies pour faciliter la vie quotidienne. Comment allez-vous façonner le destin de votre village ?

Saltfjord se déroule dans un village de pêcheurs norvégien et est vaguement basé sur les mécanismes de dessin de dés de « Santa Maria », mais le jeu a été entièrement repensé et étendu avec de nouveaux éléments.

Pour ajouter à la rejouabilité, le jeu comporte de nombreux éléments variables dans la configuration, tels que les capacités spéciales et les tuiles de score final disponibles.
