💡 Why is Mode 4 recommended by default? Élégance Carbon's Mode 4 applies a very gentle cycle to the mechanism: only 2 minutes of rotation followed by 18 minutes of pause, alternating clockwise and then counter-clockwise. The long pauses allow the mechanism to stabilize between active phases, which prevents any overwinding and preserves the longevity of the caliber. It is the most universal mode: it is suitable for modern Rolex (650 TPD), contemporary Omega, TAG Heuer, Breitling, IWC. For very sensitive complications, opt for Mode 5 with its prolonged pause.
Optimal use: the Élégance Carbon can operate continuously 24/7 without risk to your watches. The 18-minute pause cycles integrated into Mode 4 (recommended by default) prevent overwinding and protect the mechanism. The black lacquer and carbon fiber require no special maintenance — a simple soft cloth is enough to restore their shine. The transparent glass lid keeps your watches dust-free while keeping them visible at all times.
⚠️ For automatic watches only. The Élégance Carbon is exclusively designed for automatic calibers with a rotor. It is not suitable for quartz watches (battery-powered), solar watches, manual-wind watches (which are wound only by the crown), or smartwatches. Placing these types of watches in a winder is unnecessary and can, in some cases, damage the movement.
