FAQ
Can the Orbi-Shaker MP be used in a CO2 incubator?
Generally not. The Orbi-Shaker™ MP is suitable for use in conditions of up to 80% relative humidity, and CO2 incubators are generally run at higher humidity levels (90% or higher). Using the Orbi-Shaker MP at RH levels above 80% will void the warranty and may decrease the life span of the instrument.
We do have a few options where the control panel is outside the shaker and the shaking platform inside is connected via a ribbon cable which can pass through the door without breaking the seal: the Orbi-Shaker CO2 and Extreme Environment Shaker. These are suitable for higher-temperature and high-humidity environments.
Can the Orbi-Shaker MP be used for deep well plates, for instance 96x 2ml wells?
Yes, the shaker comes with the microplate platform, which is suitable for both standard and deep-well plates. It accommodates four plates.
