Emma Nolan and Alyssa Greene share the same goal: debut as a couple at their senior prom. Only a few things stand in their way--okay, maybe more than a few. For one, Alyssa hasn't come out yet. It's not that she doesn't want to, but with a mother on the PTA who will stop at nothing to prevent same-sex couples from attending prom, it's not a conversation she's eager to have--with good reason. Before long, Mrs. Greene has the entire town backing her up, and it's starting to look as though Emma and Alyssa won't get their happily-ever-after. Then, out of the blue, two Broadway stars arrive on the scene to fight on the girls' behalf (and get a little publicity along the way). But when their good intentions fall flat, it's up to Emma and Alyssa to take matters into their own hands and show their small Indiana town--and the world--that love is love is love. Comfy and cute.
I was looking for a Converse alternative for a multitude of reasons. These were perfect. I love the slip-on style. The leather laces stay in place much better than the Converse cotton laces and there is way more sole support, which is a huge plus. I purchased these in black about a year ago and then went for the camo pair.
As for the black pair, I wore them regularly for a year. After that time, the shoe didn't feel as comfortable anymore, and the fabric outer around the ankle began to fray, and the white outer trim was beginning to detach from the bottom sole. With that, I was pleased with how long they lasted.
As for the camo pair, I anticipate the same quality and comfort. While super cute, the only draw back is the mismatched pattern. If you look at the pics, the one shoe has more gold embellishment at the toe area and the other one doesn't. This bothers me a bit as I would have liked it to match.
Otherwise, I'm happy with both purchases so far and will continue to buy them in the future.
