Bedoba Rosé Kakheti Company Wine of Georgia 2025 is een Georgische rosé van 100% Saperavi, een inheemse druif die normaal vooral bekendstaat om diepgekleurde rode wijnen. Juist daarom is deze rosé opvallend: alleen het vrij aflopende sap wordt gebruikt, zodat de wijn zijn frisheid bewaart en niet te veel kleur of tannine uit de schillen meekrijgt. Met koude vergisting op roestvrijstaal, gedeeltelijke malolactische omzetting en een klein aandeel nieuw Frans eiken combineert Bedoba Rosé levendig rood fruit met fijne textuur en een serieuze, verfijnde structuur.

Wijngaarden en regio

Bedoba Rosé komt uit Kakheti, het historische hart van de Georgische wijnbouw.

Ligging / Herkomst: De wijngaarden liggen in Kakheti, in het oosten van Georgië, waar de Alazani Valley aan de voet van de Kaukasus een belangrijk wijnlandschap vormt.

Klimaat & Invloeden: Warme dagen en koele nachten helpen de Saperavi om volledig rijp te worden, terwijl de nachtelijke afkoeling de frisheid en aromatische precisie ondersteunt.

Bodem: Bedoba werkt met diepe zwarte leisteenbodems die zijn gevormd uit oude rivierbeddingen. Deze bodems houden weinig water vast, waardoor de wijnstokken dieper wortelen en geconcentreerder fruit kunnen leveren.

Wijngaard & Oogst: De druiven worden volledig met de hand geoogst tijdens de koele vroege ochtenduren en direct naar de pers gebracht. Dat helpt om de frisheid van het fruit vanaf het eerste moment te behouden.

Vinificatie en rijping

De vinificatie is gericht op een rosé met frisheid, precisie en extra diepte.

Oogst & Selectie: Alleen het free-run juice wordt gebruikt. Wat is free-run juice? Dat is het sap dat vanzelf uit de druiven loopt vóór stevige persing, waardoor de wijn minder kleur en tannine uit de schillen meekrijgt.

Vergisting: De koude vergisting vindt plaats in roestvrijstalen tanks. Deze aanpak houdt de fruitexpressie zuiver en bewaart de frisse aromatische kant van Saperavi.

Malolactische omzetting: Ongeveer de helft van de wijn ondergaat malolactische omzetting. Dit verzacht de zuren en geeft de rosé een rondere, fijnere textuur zonder zijn levendige karakter te verliezen.

Rijping / Houtopvoeding: Een klein deel van de wijn rijpt in nieuwe Franse eikenhouten vaten. Dat voegt subtiel extra structuur, complexiteit en breedte toe, terwijl de rosé fris en fruitgedreven blijft.

Druivensamenstelling

Deze Georgische rosé wordt volledig gemaakt van Saperavi.

100% Saperavi – Kakheti: Saperavi geeft deze rosé zijn heldere rode fruitexpressie, kruidige ondertoon en opvallende structuur. Voor een rosé zorgt deze druif voor meer diepte en spanning dan veel lichter gekleurde rosédruiven.

Proefnotities en serveertips

Helder rosé in het glas, met aroma’s van wilde aardbei, rode bes, granaatappel, rozenblaadjes en fijne verse kruiden. De smaak is levendig en verfijnd, met helder rood fruit, frisse spanning en een mooie, licht romige textuur. De afdronk blijft fris, precies en elegant.

Serveertemperatuur: Serveer deze Bedoba Rosé op 10–12 °C, zodat het rode fruit fris blijft en de subtiele textuur mooi naar voren komt.

Gerechten: Mooi bij gegrilde garnalen, mediterrane salades, sushi, verse geitenkaas en lichte zomerse gerechten.

Bedoba is ontstaan uit de ontmoeting tussen de Zwitserse wijnondernemer Thierry Fontannaz en de Georgische wijnmaker Nugzar Ksovreli. De lijn brengt de oude wijncultuur van Georgië samen met een moderne, verfijnde stijl waarin Kakheti centraal staat. Die regio geldt als een van de belangrijkste wijngebieden van Georgië, een land met meer dan 8.000 jaar wijnhistorie en een levende traditie rond qvevri, handmatige oogst en inheemse druivenrassen.

Excellent fan, moves a lot of air a long distance, and is very quiet

We have the other type of Levoit standing fan which is super quiet and moves air nicely inside a room. But we have one side of the house that gets little air flow in general, so we bought this to try and improve the air flow around the house by directing air from one side to the other. We have been using a Vornado fan for this in the past, but the air flow it produces dissipates too quickly and the damn thing sounds like a small jet engine. So as we had such a great experience with the other Levoit fan we tried this one. It is very expensive, and there are cheaper ones available, however we felt that longer distance airflow and quiet were very important to us. We are not disappointed. This fan is really quiet, on lower settings it is whisper quiet, perfect for moving air and still being able to work, or be in a video call. On the highest setting it does make some noise, air moving quickly produces turbulence, there is no way to avoid it. But the noise level is low, and not very noticeable. However it moves huge amounts of air, an directs it very tightly. It does not dissipate even after 30-40ft. Great for moving air around a house. On the down side, it only has 5 speeds, and it only rotates 90 degrees. The other Levoit fan has more options to control the air flow. It displays the temperature but only when changing the settings. It would be nice to have a button on the remote to display temp, even if just briefly. The auto program has no hysteresis when changing fan speeds, so when the temp hits a point where it is going to change, it keeps speeding up and slowing down every second or two. With that the noise becomes noticeable for a while. A 20 second or so hysteresis delay would solve that issue. On the major up side, it is as quiet as advertised, it blows huge amounts of air, even on the lowest setting it moves enough air to slowly flap paper 50ft away, and you cannot hear it. The remote is good, and there is a little nook to store it in. You can have it set to not display anything, so it stays dark at night, the timer works well, although we find we don't use it. It is very easy to open and clean. In short, even though it cost a premium price it ended up being worth it, and now is in use 24/7. Would definitely by again if we needed another one.
