Uiterlijk van de plant: De Pachira Aquatica, ook wel geldboom genoemd, heeft een dikke, gevlochten stam die zich bovenaan splitst in meerdere lange, dunne takken met handvormige, glanzende groene bladeren. De bladeren zijn meestal heldergroen en kunnen tot wel 30 cm lang worden. Deze plant staat bekend om zijn sierlijke en exotische uitstraling.

Standplaats: De Pachira Aquatica gedijt het beste op een lichte plek met indirect zonlicht. Direct zonlicht kan de bladeren beschadigen. Deze plant is geschikt voor binnen, bij voorkeur in een ruimte met voldoende daglicht.

Waterbehoefte: De Pachira heeft matig water nodig. Laat de potgrond uitdrogen tussen de gietbeurten en geef de plant pas weer water als de bovenste laag van de grond droog aanvoelt. In de zomer heeft de plant wat meer water nodig, ongeveer één keer per week.
