Suture Characteristics

Polyglactin 910 is coated in order to create a smoother synthetic  absorbable suture that will pass through tissue readily.

Coated Polyglactin 910 sutures facilitate:

  • Easy tissue passage
  • Precise knot placement
  • Smooth tie down
  • A decreased tendency to irritate tissue
  • Greater tensile strength
  • A longer absorption period
  • After 3 weeks post operation, in clinical trials, polyglactin 910 sutures still maintain approximately 50% of their tensile strength.

About Polyglactin 910 Suture

Polyglactin 910 suture is a synthetic absorbable, sterile, surgical suture composed of copolymers made from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. A slight tissue inflammation may occur when polyglactin 910 sutures are placed in tissue, which is characteristic of a foreign body response. This response is followed by gradual encapsulation by fibrous connective tissue.

Progressive loss of tensile strength and eventual absorption of polyglactin 910 suture occurs by means of hydrolysis, where the polymer degrades to either glycolic acid or glycolic and lactic acids which are subsequently absorbed and metabolized by the body.

Complete loss of original tensile strength is lost by around 5 weeks post-placement. Absorption of the suture is essentially complete between 56 and 70 days.

Quality Assurance Lacking
Color: White, Size: 15.7 Inches
The first set I ordered was great; super easy to install, no issues. The second set I ordered the holes on the bottom of the shelves did not match up with the holes on the bar that secures the shelves to the wall so it was impossible to attach the shelves correctly. I'm still trying to figure out a solution. TO SUMMARIZE: First set perfect; second set unusable

Happy with my purchase

These shelves are fantastic! The quality is excellent, assembly was quick and easy, and they look great once installed. They have a much more expensive appearance than their price suggests. I’m very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend them.

Great sturdy shelf, install can be a bit challenging
Style: 3 Tier with Tower Bar, Style: 3 Tier with Tower Bar
The shelf is great and does exactly what I wanted it to do. I will note that the instructions indicate you’re supposed to use a 6 mm drillbit to install the anchors which comes out to about a 15/64 size. I would recommend a quarter inch drillbit because I was really struggling to get those anchors in there. Several folks also said that it’s easiest to install with two people, but you don’t need two people if you have some way to prop the piece up while you’re marking the hole placements to drill (and I would definitely recommend having a level on it the entire time you’re working to make sure that it’s correct). Lastly, it is easiest to put it together first, and then mark the drill holes, put the piece aside and drill and install the anchors, and then screw it in. I will also caution folks to not overtighten the pipe connections, because the pipes will end up in a wonky direction in the end. Overall I am extremely happy with this piece and certainly for the price!!
