Discover 'To Kill A Democracy: India's Passage to Despotism', a profound exploration into the current state of India's democracy published by Oxford University Press. This compelling book, authored by seasoned political analysts, delves into the alarming erosion of democratic values in one of the world's largest democracies. Throughout its 208 pages, readers will uncover not just the statistical decline of political freedoms, but the tangible human stories reflecting daily struggles against injustice. The book poignantly illustrates the impact of Modi-style populism and raises critical questions about civil liberties and the very essence of democracy in India. It asserts that democracy transcends mere elections and governance; it encompasses the social fabric and dignity of its citizens. The authors masterfully connect India's democratic challenges to broader global trends, emphasizing that the fight for democracy is a universal issue. Description:
India is heralded as the world's largest democracy. Yet, there is now growing alarm about its democratic health. To Kill a Democracy gets to the heart of the matter. Combining poignant life stories with sharp scholarly insight, it rejects the belief that India was once a beacon of democracy but is now being ruined by the destructive forces of Modi-style populism. The book details the
much deeper historical roots of the present-day assaults on civil liberties and democratic institutions. Democracy, the authors also argue, is much more than elections and the separation of powers. It is a whole way of life lived in dignity, and that is why
they pay special attention to the decaying social foundations of Indian democracy. In compelling fashion, the book describes daily struggles for survival and explains how lived social injustices and unfreedoms rob Indian elections of their meaning, while at the same time feeding the decadence and iron-fisted rule of its governing institutions. Much more than a book about India, To Kill A Democracy argues that what is happening in the country is globally important, and not just because
every third person living in a democracy is an Indian. It shows that when democracies rack and ruin their social foundations, they don't just kill off the spirit and substance of democracy. They lay the
foundations for despotism.

These pillows are truly cooling, and they make a huge difference!
These pillows are amazing. I absolutely love them. I’m going through menopause, so I’m constantly hot, then cold, then hot again. These pillows are truly cooling, and they make a huge difference. I’m a side sleeper, and they are incredibly comfortable. They’re worth every penny, and I highly recommend them to everyone.

Not all the same! Some Great, some not.
I bought the queen 2 pillow green blue pillows first. Absolutely love them. Later I saw they had them with cooling on both sides and bought the queen 2 pillow set of that..not the one that said firm. These new ones are way over stuffed and very firm, they do not sink in softly like the first ones. So I would only get the green/blue tag ones they are 5 star-best i have used, this last one 3 star and regretting them. I took enough stuffing out of the two new ones to make 1.5 new pillows, now descent but not the soft comfort as the first, I thought that was what I was paying for. So it's a gamble. The lighter color stuffing is soft and has more of a memory foam reaction, the other darker one feels like stiffer foam with more air in it. It's still soft but doesn't feel like memory foam.
