Vietnam-Era U.S. Military Watch Strap – 20mm Khaki

These straps were originally manufactured in 1965 and issued in both 16mm and 18mm widths for military watches of the era. They were used on timepieces from brands such as Benrus, Westclox, Hamilton, Bulova, and others.

Faithfully reproduced to match the original U.S. military specification MIL-S-46383A1 WRIST: INSTRUMENT (June 1965), this strap remains true to the authentic design and materials used during the Vietnam War era.

Specifications:

  • 1.2mm thick premium ballistic nylon for exceptional durability
  • Reinforced high-quality stitching throughout
  • Fixed nylon keeper loop in compliance with MIL-S-46383
  • Stainless steel fasteners for secure, corrosion-resistant wear
  • Length: 254mm (10") – suitable for most wrist sizes

Design Notes:
While the core design of the strap remained consistent over two decades, some minor tweaks occurred, particularly in buckle finishes and stitching reinforcements.

Heritage:
Used with a wide range of U.S. military-issue watches during the Vietnam era and into the Cold War period, these straps became iconic in both form and function. They continue to be favored by military enthusiasts, collectors, and professionals who appreciate historical accuracy blended with modern practicality.

The final two images show the original Vietnam-era watch these straps were used with, alongside a bundle of straps in their period packaging—highlighting the authenticity and heritage of the design.

Great stimulation for a 'busy' pup
Color: Blue, Color: Blue
I’ll admit I was a little skeptical since my German Shepherd is well over the recommended weight limit for this ball, but it’s been a huge hit. Even though it’s technically for smaller breeds, it has held up remarkably well so far. I’ve mostly kept it on the gentle mode, and that’s more than enough to grab her attention and keep her occupied for quite a while. The design is actually much tougher than the warnings suggest; the two halves screw together so securely that she hasn't been able to pry it open, which is impressive for a tough chewer. It’s been a great way to keep her mentally engaged indoors without worrying about the toy falling apart immediately.

Recommended for Small, Mellower Dogs, not the destructive, chewy kind
Color: Blue, Color: Blue
My dog loved this ball, maybe a little too much. He attacked it like it was a wild animal and left teeth marks and tears in the outer plastic. I decided to give it to my cats instead, who initially were very intrigued by it. The buff kitty even chirped to see it. He would roll around with it as it vibrated and hopped, but after a while he wasn’t that interested. I think I can get them to play with it if I don’t use it with them every day, maybe wait a few weeks between playtimes. Perhaps it is a little too large for cats. My dog, who is less than 30 lbs., might be too big for it, or maybe just his mouth is, or maybe because he’s a Boston Terrier and he always feels like it’s his duty to destroy all toys (all my Bostons were like that). But I don’t think I will let him have it again. Maybe a toy breed or puppy might be more of the appropriate size for this ball. Or someone who isn’t as destructive. The instructions are almost unreadable because the text is so small. I couldn’t understand what I was supposed to do with the “installation process.” I did figure out how to turn it on and off by myself, however. There are four modes when it is on: gentle, normal, active, and lighting only (no vibration). As a human, it is a fun thing to watch, even if it is just for the light show.

Battery so so
Each charge doesn’t last very long, but my dog likes it when it does.

SMELLS MUSTY
Opened it up for our pup on his bday and it smelled like pure mold. We had to throw it out because it was just terrible smelling and we didn't want our pup to even put it in his mouth!
